Qualifications

I’m a professional you can trust. I didn’t come to translation by accident, just as you didn’t stumble into medicine, nutrition, cooking or writing. I studied translation for many years, in Italy and in England, before starting to ply my trade. I hold an MSc in Scientific, Technical and Medical Translation with Translation Technology, a BA and a DipHE in Translation.



Experience

You’re in good hands. I’ve been working as a freelance Italian translator since completing my MSc in 2011. I’ve translated, proofread and quality checked documentaries, films and TV programmes, websites, articles, blogs, medical documents and marketing material and worked as an interpreter in medical and other settings.



Memberships

I’m an Associate Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) in the UK, adhering to their code of conduct and committed to continuing professional development (CPD). I’m also a Professional and Committee Member of The Subtitlers’ Association (SUBTLE).



I have taught translation technology, subtitling and technical translation at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
My paper about medical language and audiovisual translation (subtitling and dubbing) was published by Cambridge Scholars.
Alongside translating, I also teach Italian to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Since 2020, I write a bilingual blog about food, nutrition & well-being.
